There was a funny (read; embarrassing) misunderstanding of mine about armor. I had been under the impression that plate armor was more effective in stopping/deflecting blows from bladed weapons (like the barbarians from the first… 3 pages use) and that chainmail was better at protecting the wearer from arrows. But then I learned that that was basically a bunch of crap, and that I was both right and wrong, and generally you’d want to be wearing plate and chain to be fully protected. Or something like that. Thanks, History Channel.
The main reason for the distinction is that I didn’t want to draw chainmail every day. But then I heard somewhere at some point that chainmail was preferable for hot environments for whatever reason, so I wrote that in to cover my ass. I’m no armor expert, and I don’t think I need to be to make something entertaining and/or pretty as is my goal (in fact, it may even be detrimental) but I do try to have things make at least a little sense.
I also just noticed a typo in the page, gotta fix that…
